Case Study - Insane AV, Houston.

It has been a challenging past year-and-a-bit for all of us. Whereas normally we would be visiting dealers, their customers, and helping out with ongoing builds, this has been impossible of late. This project highlights just how easy and simple the entire HTE design, specification and build process is. The conversation started out with us saying that we would travel to The US to help get the build of this demonstration cinema started, when this was then impossible our dealer, Kamron Troy from Insane AV in Houston, Texas, handled the entire build himself.

This is the story in his own unedited words -

Deciding what products to put in our flagship showroom was a big decision. There are obviously numerous choices that can be had from many quality companies out there. Jacob Atkinson of Total Marketing At Home started talking to me about HTE and explained that they were doing things differently than others. More cutting edge with both acoustic room engineering and also stylistically . Italy is of course known world wide for their expertise in design and attention to detail. Maurizio and his staff have now proven that they live up to the reputation.

We started the project off with me sending a few photos of the the inside of the Battlestar Galactica. I am kind of sci-fi guy and wanted the room to have a spacey vibe to it. A place where you can feel like you are escaping away from the rigors of everyday busy life. I then gave Maurizio the exact measurements of the room. We had already decided the new speaker system that was going into the space. It is an 11.3.10 coaxial cinema reference system from Ascendo Immersive Audio which is another company who is pushing the boundaries with regard to home cinema excellence. It will be managed by a Trinnov Altitude 32-24 processor. Armed with the information of the components, room dimensions, and a couple of simple photos, Maurizio shortly offered some amazing renderings of the room.

We agreed on the look and the room went into production. A couple weeks later 2 giant crates arrived in Houston. After opening the crates it was very apparent that an HTE room is built and packaged with the utmost care. Every panel perfectly machined and then finished by hand. Individually numbered and directionally labeled. Putting the room together was fantastic! The drawings that HTE provided and the simplicity of the installation due to the precision during the manufacturing process was greatly appreciated.

The good news is the room turned out exactly like the renderings. Even better news is that the room looks and sounds absolutely incredible. There really is no way to describe it. It has to be experienced. The way the sound envelopes you, the way the panels absorb the reflections of light. Even the images off the screen look better. Watching some of our favorite movies again is almost like seeing and hearing them again for the first time in a much more immersive way.

I can do nothing else but give my full endorsement and recommendation of HTE to anyone who is looking for the ultimate home theatre experience in their home.
